Located in San Miguel, Jordan Guimaras, the Trappist Monastery is around 20 to 30 minutes travel from Jordan Wharf. It is being run by monks of the Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance.
The monks earn a living by selling souvenir items and processed foods such as jellies, jams, candies, piyaya and other small items that are being sold in a shop inside the monastery grounds.
The monastery is open to the public. One can tour around and visit the prayer areas of the monks. As they say, going inside Trappist is about spending time in serenity.
Accommodations or guesthouses are also available for those who want to stay overnight and do some retreat and soul searching.
