A 7-kilometer island from tip to tip and a 15 minute boat ride from San Carlos City, Sipaway Island is a holiday heaven for Negrenses and even Ilonggos looking for a week end hide away. In 2021, it was ranked as the number one tourist site in Western Visayas with 75, 685 individual visitors who either strolled around the island or took time to soak in its pristine white sand beaches.
Sipaway Island is composed of only two barangays. Its beaches are great for swimming and family outings while it has several dive spots for both novice and professional divers.
The island has only a few resorts but there are homestays offered around the island.
The best catch of the island? There are no major infrastructures around and the vibe is one of rural living with friendly residents willing to assist guests anytime. Transportation around the island is not a problem as there are motorcycles for rent and tricycles ready to take you around the island.
Scuba diving is popular in the island but for most of its guests, it’s the tranquil and quite place that they are after.
