GUISI LIGHTHOUSE AND GUISI BEACH AREA (TAHI BEACH RESORT AND GUISI CLEAR WATER)

Considered as the second oldest lighthouse the Spaniards built in the Philippines, the Guisi Lighthouse was constructed 1894-1896. Known as the Faro de Punta Luzaran, it served as a navigational aid to fishermen and sailors cruising the Panay Gulf. It is listed in the 27 major Spanish lighthouses in the Philippines.

Located in Sitio Guisi, Brgy. Dolores, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, the lighthouse is an hour ride from Jordan Wharf.  Though the lighthouse is no longer functional and the sea salt has eaten most of its metal structure, the ruins of the former Spanish outpost where the lighthouse stands offer a great view of the sea around and under at the Guisi beach area.

The beach area has golden yellow sands, greenish blue waters and very interesting rock formations. The downward slope going to the beach is the beginning of the beachy journey for visitors who would like to soak their bodies on the waters. There are accommodations available at the beach area for those who want to stay a little longer.

The lighthouse and the beach area is just a few minutes ride from and to the Alobijod area in Nueva Valencia where bigger beach resorts are located.
