CONCEPCION ISLANDS

The coastal town of Concepcion is endowed with beautiful islands that boast of beaches with white sands and pristine waters. Travel time from Iloilo City is around two hours and fifteem minutes. Going to the islands though is by boat that can be coordinated with the local tourism office of the town.

Concepcion has 17 islands some of which though are uninhabited. Among the frequently visited islands are Tago Island, Pan de Azucar where the famous Mt. Manaphag is standing, Bag-o Isi island which has a snake-like sand bar that’s going to the direction of Pan de Azucar, Bocot island which is considered as the smallest island, the Colebra or Bag-o alas island, Sombrero Island that looks like a fortress of big rock formations guarding Pan de Azucar, Agho island which has the most extensive white sand beach area, a wide coral garden and has the most magnificent view of both sunrise and sunset, Malangabang Island which is considered as the most populated island, Igbon Island which is considered as a beautiful diving spot, Bag-o Abo island which is said to be perfect for those who love underwaters and the islands of Bulubadiangan and Danao-Danao. Bulubadiangan is known for its shifting sandbar and Danao-danao is known for its natural stone formations like tables and twisted human forms. Tagubanban island is the border towards Ajuy while around 25 kilometers away from mainland is Baliguian Island, the only coral atoll of the town.

 

Visitors who wish to go island hopping or stay overnight in these islands can coordinate with local tour operators and the local tourism office for convenience and safety.
