CAMINA BALAY NGA BATO (FASCADE WEAVING ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS, TSOKOLATE, PANCIT MOLO)

Patterned after a bahay kubo, the house made of stone in Osmena Streert, Arevalo, Iloilo City was the humble abode of Fernando Avancena and Eulalia Abaja which was built in 1865. It was designed by the first parish priest of Molo, Anselmo Avancena. Today, it is owned by Gerard Camina, a former Land Transportation Office Regional Director and a fourth generation of the original owners.

IN 2015, the National Museum declared it as an important cultural property.  No less than the owners are more than willing to share with the visitors the art of tsokolate or tablea making and drinking.

The house is open to the public as it has become as sort of a community museum where people can see and at times experience the traditional weaving of hablon, appreciate different collections that are related to the early lives in Iloilo and of course taste the sumptuous pancit molo being served.
