Considered as one of Negros Occidental’s haven for rest and recreation, Mambukal Hot Spring Resort in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia is an imposing ground for those who want adventure, vacation or simply stroll and harmonize with nature.
Managed by the provincial government, the 23.6 hectare facility that sits 1200 feet above sea level is also a gateway to Mt. Kanlaon through the Wasay Trail.
In 1927 Japanese Architect kokichi Paul Ishiwata developed a bathhouse and picnic garden for Negrenses in the area where the resort spreads now. Three decades later in June 22, 1957 President Carlos P. Garcia signed RA 1964 that tasked the provincial government of Negros Occidental with the administration and management of the townsite and resort facilities. Today, Mambukal has hosted a number of historic events and activities and continues to be a place where people can enjoy boating, trekking, swimming, dipping on sulfur pool and many other activities.
It has also several accommodation facilities for individuals, families and large groups who want to stay for a while or mix business with leisure. Mambukal is a 30 minute ride from Bacolod City.
