Manika Highlands

The once insurgency infested highlands of Libacao are now receiving guests from all over the province especially those who wants to have some time communing with nature. That’s the best way to describe Libacao, Aklan’s raw destination.

Raw as in there are a few structures going up the highest point of Aklan, the Manika Highlands in Manika, Libacao, Aklan. The road may be treacherous with many difficult sections but it’s worth the travel once you get on top of Manika and sets your foot on the natural viewing deck.
There you will see the surrounding green mountains and hear the singing of the birds and the humming of the wind. It’s truly a bliss especially for those who want some extremely peaceful place.

Just a minutes from the top most part of the mountain are a few coffee places where one can dine and have some hot coffee.

Looking at the natural fortress, it’s just a matter of time before accommodations will be built and restaurants will serve the tourists wanting to spend some time at the Manika Highlands. In the meantime, with the help of the local tourism office and the barangay coordinators, one can go trekking on the mountains of Manika and see for themselves the beauty that it has to offer. Afterall, Libacao is considered as the Eco-Adventure Capital of Aklan.
